Frequently Asked Questions
Will It Hurt?
At Mainline Dental Arts, we prioritize your comfort at every step. A periodontal examination is typically completed with minimal to no discomfort, and our team ensures a gentle and supportive experience.
Do I Need X-Rays?
Because every patient’s needs are unique, one of our doctors — Dr. Michael Strassberg, DDS, Dr. Juliana Ko, DMD, or Dr. Milita Borguet, DMD — will need to complete a comprehensive evaluation before outlining your treatment plan and associated costs. Periodontal treatment fees vary depending on the severity of the condition and the complexity and duration of care. In most cases, an estimated cost can be provided during your initial visit. Occasionally, additional diagnostics or preliminary treatment may be necessary before finalizing the complete treatment plan. Our philosophy is to provide conservative, effective care that achieves long-term results.
What Will It Cost?
Every patient’s dental needs are unique. Before recommending treatment, Dr. Michael Strassberg, Dr. Juliana Ko, or Dr. Milita Borguet will complete a thorough examination and discuss personalized treatment options with you.
Fees vary depending on the type and complexity of care required. In most cases, we can provide an estimated cost at your initial visit. Our philosophy is to recommend the most conservative and effective treatment options to help you achieve long-term oral health.
Will My Insurance Cover the Cost?
Many dental insurance plans provide coverage for periodontal procedures. We recommend bringing your dental insurance information and identification cards to your appointment. If requested, our office can submit a pre-determination to your insurance provider to help you better understand your benefits, although this step is not required by most plans.
Will I Need Extensive Treatment?
Not all dental issues require major procedures. Many concerns can be treated conservatively when diagnosed early. We will carefully evaluate your individual situation and recommend treatment options that best suit your needs. Our goal is always to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible.
Can My Teeth Be Saved?
Thanks to advances in modern dentistry, many teeth that were once considered hopeless can now be successfully treated and restored. Early diagnosis and timely treatment greatly improve the likelihood of saving natural teeth.
How Often Should I Visit the Dentist?
Regular dental visits are essential to maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Most patients benefit from routine cleanings and examinations every six months, although some may require more frequent visits depending on their oral health needs.
What If I Delay Treatment?
Periodontal disease is a progressive infection that often develops without noticeable pain. Postponing treatment may result in additional bone loss and more extensive (and costly) procedures in the future. If teeth are lost, replacement options such as dentures cannot fully replicate the function and comfort of your natural teeth.
