ARESTIN®
Periodontal disease is a serious infection that develops beneath the gum line and can affect the health of your gums and supporting bone if left untreated.
ARESTIN® (minocycline hydrochloride) is an antibiotic treatment designed to eliminate the bacteria responsible for periodontal infections. At Mainline Dental Arts, ARESTIN® is placed directly into infected gum pockets to target bacteria at the source.
This treatment is typically applied immediately after scaling and root planing — a deep cleaning procedure that removes plaque and bacteria from below the gum line, where regular brushing and flossing cannot reach. Once applied, ARESTIN® begins working quickly and continues fighting bacteria even after your visit to the dental office.
ARESTIN® helps reduce infection and inflammation for up to 30 days and has been shown to provide improved results when used alongside scaling and root planing compared to the procedure alone, with benefits lasting up to 90 days.
